Is It Safe To Give MMR Vaccine For A 6 Month Old ?

My daughter just was at her MD with my 6 month old granddaughter and the Dr gave her the MMR vaccine today. the Doctor said due to the recent out breaks of measles and since my daughter and husband and family are travelling next week, the early vaccine would be important to have now. The Dr. Also told my daughter that many doctors are advising their patients this way.Do you agree?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Yes it is safe and it is a wise decision to give the vaccine if there is an outbreak of measles in the surrounding area. Measles is extremely difficult to treat once infected but very easy to prevent through simple vaccination. Take care.
