Is It Safe To Give Prednisone For Fever Caused Due To Bee Sting?

My child was stung by a bee and has had a fever for 2 days now. Took him to urgent care and was told that bees carry e-coli and my child may be infected now. I was given prednisone and an antibiotic. Is this diagnosis correct? Can bee stings give you e-coli?

Bee stings cause hypersensitive reaction to antigen injected inside the body. There is nothing like bacterial toxins entering in the body. A short course of prednisolone is okay with some anti-allergic. Fever may be lowered by paracetamol. If fever continues, then blood counts should be measured.
