Is It Safe To Give Birth While Having Weak Bladder?

Hi, Please.. I made a mistake, I impregnated my girlfriend when we were in university, she had abortion which was successful, but after one month she started to feel pain once in a while in the lower part of her tommy, we thought its something normal.. We refused to visit the doctor for check up or scan.. and after 8months she got pregnant the second time and glory be to God she delivered safely the baby boy that was. Aug, 2011... This year Feb, she got pregnant again but unfortunately she went for another abortion... After the successful abortion, the doctor told her to go for scan... And she was told that her bladder is getting weaker... I was mad at myself when she told me, I really love this girl... We did this abortion just because we don t have money to take care of the baby... She told me today that she was feeling serious pain in the lower part of her tommy and its becoming more and more this days.... Please my question is, What are the chances of giving birth with the weak bladder Secondly, please what do you know that could cause the pain in ther lower part of her tommy... Am really becoming worried cos I don t wanna loose my wife please... Please kindly give me your advice on anything I could do or use for her protection for goodness sake... You can easily reply me in my email please for better discussion off the forum... YYYY@YYYY

Hi, Dr. Purushottm Neurgaonkar welcomes you to HCM VIRTUAL CLINIC. I have gone through your question, and I think I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) please get correct medical description of what you are saying about - weak urinary bladder, from the doctor who has diagnosed this problem.

3 ) In my opinion, it can be some laxity of vaginal wall that occurs after vaginal delivery. It is usually called as Cystocoele.

It is not a life threatening condition, but needs surgical correction.
After that, she can get pregnant and may be she will be suggested to have delivery by C - section.

4 ) It won't be wrong on my side , to suggest you to get counselled about safe and protected sex activity, and use of suitable contraceptive method. This will help to have pregnancy by choice and not by chance.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar.
