Is It Safe To Give My Toddler Meftal For Fever, And Should I Give Paracetamol If His Fever Goes Below 102 After That?

Hi Doctor, My son is 4.5yrs old. He is suffering from fever and cold for past 4 days. Doctor had suggested to give Parcetemol 250 - 3.5ml for every 6 hrs if the temperature is 99 and meftal 5ml if the fever is above 102. For cold he had suggested to give maxtra syrup. Today is the 5th day and fever did not subside. Now my doc has advised increase the dosage of meftal to 8-10ml. He has also given some probiotic powder to mix in water and drink.. Is is safe to give 8-10ml of meftal? Will my kid have any side effect? Also after giving him 8ml if the fever is below 102 do i need to give meftal again or paracetamol?
