Is It Safe To Go For Swimming With The Athletes Foot?

I ve had athletes foot for about a month and a half after 2 weeks of it I called my renal transplant doctor and they called down some prescription ointment. It went away for about a week and now came back worse and the medicine doesnt seem to be helping this time. What Should I do? Also my brother invited me to go swimming in his pool at his house.

Hi, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum.
First get yourself examined by a Dermatologist so that he can examine you and prescribe a different medication. Your Doctor may prescribe a another anti fungal drug. Wash and dry the affected area. Then, apply a thin layer of the topical agent once or twice a day for at least 4 weeks, If your athlete's foot recurs frequently, your doctor may recommend that you use a medication continuously. Avoid swimming, wearing shoe and always wear sandals until the infection is cleared.

Wish you Good Health, Take Care.
