Is It Safe To Have Cefdinir And Metronidazole While Suffering From Fatty Liver?
I got inflammation on my left breast. My doctor extracted the abcess and kept the drainage for 3 weeks. After the wound healed; about two weeks more I had an ultrasound and was told that the abcess deposit is still there. I was prescribed of Cefdinir (300mg) twice daily and Metronodazole (400mg) trice daily; both for 7 days. My concern is that after reading the drug info; it was mentioned that the metronodazole should not be taken if there is existing liver disorder. I was dignosed with fatty liver and elevated liver enzymes. Can I take these antibiotics given the current liver issues Thank you
If needed can be prescribed in lower doses but yes it has potential to cause reversible liver damage but as it is needed if benefit outweigh risk then given. My specialist opinion can give you one option you can ask your physician for AST test of antibiotics and susceptible one which does not effect liver can be given. Eat healthy and antioxidants like amla and aloe vera, basil, fresh fruits, juices, and steamed vegetables, all can help to detoxify!
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
