Is It Safe To Have Suboxone Post Rehabilitation For Heroin Addiction?

Hi, my son has had an addiction to heroin in the past. He has gone to rehab and was well for several months. He relapsed but wants to get suboxen as he feels he can go this route instead of rehab again. However, I cannot find a dr that will prescribe suboxen for him

Is his request reasonable?

Hi,
Welcome to healthcare Magic!
Suboxone is an opioid drug that has addiction potential if taken in long run.
Albeit the drug is much less addictive as compared to the Heroin addiction.
It will be better if he could consult a local de addiction physician and gets prescribed a better, safer and almost nonaddictive drug of benzodiazepine group.
I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you.
Take Care!
