Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 11 year old daughter is missing her TDAP records, I think we got it 2 years ago but the doctor that we used to go to is no longer practicing so I can't get the records anymore. If she were to get the TDAP with in 2 years will that cause any harm to an 11 year old?
I understand your concern. Tdap vaccine is usually given at ages 4 to 6, and another one, called booster Tdap is given starting at age 11, when the previous vaccine's effect wanes. I am not sure why your daughter was give it two years ago, and I do not know whether that was a booster or a first vaccine, but I understand you need the record of the vaccine. Repeating the vaccine should not be a problem and would not cause any harm to her health.
All the best
