Is It Safe To Have Hip Replacement Surgery While On Betaseron For MS?

I am a 57 yr old woman who has had MS for 23 yrs and have been on Betaseron for the last 14 yrs. I am scheduled for total hip replacement surgery in the next month. I have no disability from the MS and have had no relapses in the past 14 yrs. The joint replacement is due to a torn labrum and constant pain. Is there any reason I should not have this surgery or anything I need to be aware of before having this procedure?
