Is It Safe To Have Lung Screeing At The Age Of 80?

I am over 80 years old and my doctor asked me to get a lung screening. (CT scan) At my age is that a wise thing to do? If the test is positive I have to go into a biopsic and all cans of procedures that I feel that at my age will do more bad than good. Anthony M. Alba

Hi,

If you don’t have symptoms of Lung carcinoma and you have not smoked then its not mandatory to get yourself checked but if you have any risk factor then probably you should get yourself screened. Later, getting biopsy done or not will be your choice.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
