Is It Safe To Have Multiple Open Heart Surgeries, Within A Year?

My father (56 yrs) just had open heart surgery last year, and continues to have problems. A recent EKG came back irregular, and he is going in for a stress test and possible cardiac catheterization next week. Is it safe to have multiple open heart surgeries, within a year?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

It depends on the type of surgery and the urgency for doing it ,multiple sugeries in a year is never a contraindication

Cardiac catheterization is not an open heart surgery its like a kind of invasive test for knowing heart vessel conditions

Discuss this with your doctor and then decide.
Hope i have answered your query.
