Is It Safe To Smoke After Tonsillectomy?

Okay so I'm getting my tonsils removed tomorrow and I'm a heavy smoker. I pretty much go insane without having a cigarette. Is it okay to smoke after a tonsilectomy? I realize it might be quite painful but are there any serious risks?! Please spare the "Use this as your chance to quit smoking... etc." Please HELP!!

Hi,
I have gone through your query; and personally advised that you start smoking only after seven days because it hinders the process of healing and chances of the infection.

But as such there are no serious side effects after tonsillectomy of the smoking.

Consult your doctor for proper life style.

Wish you good health
