Is It Safe To Start Taking Latuda For Bipolar Type 1 Disorder?
hello, I am bipolar type 1 and my dr. wants to start me on latuda, I already take abilify 30mg, Seroquel 800mg, Depakote 2500mg and risperidol 2 mg along with oth meds (insulin, thyroid, chol. and pb meds)..what are the problems going to be? what should I look for?
Latuda is indicated for treatment of bipolar disorder type 1 and there is no harm of taking it. Although experience with latuda is very much limited as this is new drug and recently approved for bipolar disorder.
If you have not responded/tolerated any of the drug that you tried than I think trying latuda is a good choice .
Before you move to latuda discuss your doctor about lithium if it has not been tried.
The side effect profile of latuda is almost similar to risperidone and nothing serious reported in young population. Thanks
