Is It Safe To Start The Prescribed Penicillin Pills Two Weeks After Receiving A Penicillin Shot For A Small Abscess?

Hi i had a small abscess and i got a Penicillin shot in my hip. I also got prescribed Penicillin pills for the infection. I forgot to take them right after getting the shot in my hip it has been 2 weeks since then. Is it safe to start taking the Penicillin pills now? The Pharmacist said to make sure to take them all and not to miss a day.
