Hi, I am a 35 year old lady, I ve been Hiv+ for the past 9 years. My CD4 is high and my viral load is undetected. I have gained some weight, previously I used to weigh 65 kg but now I am 80 kg. This weight I gained after I gave birth to my my second child in 2012. I have decided to start using Duromine last Saturday and so far I have lost 3 kg. Whilst on Duromine, I decided to stop taking Atripla/Tribuss. So I want to find out if it is safe to do so? I will only take Duromine for 15 days. .....Anonymous
Hi Thanks for your question. Till now you are having healthy symptoms like weight gain and you are protecting yourself from infections. Duromine is the drug used for weight loss and have adverse effects and many contraindications. So my advice is please stop taking that drug. Please undergo CD4 counting and consult your doctor regarding atribuss. My sincere advice is to stop taking Duromine and consult your treating doctor. Hope my advice is useful thank you All the best
