Is It Safe To Take Amoxicillin And Tylenol For Tooth Infection Caused Due To Loose Filling?

I had a filling 14 months ago in a lower molar, since then I have been dealing with that tooth being sensitive. But a week ago I stated to have pains that come and go and my gum is kind of itchy in that area. I saw a dentist, he said that my nerves are infected due to the loose filling. She prescribed me amoxicilin to prevent the infection from spreading and tylenol for the pain and recommand a root canal.I really don t wish to do the root canal and I don t want to extract the tooth either. I Wonder if there is a way to treat the infection and replace the filling without doing the root canal.

Hi,
Your treatment is on quite right way.
Complete the course of amoxicilin and then go for root canal treatment.
Root canal treatment is a must to keep tooth intact and to avoid extraction.
This will give you strong and permanent tooth.
For pain you can take Tylenol as needed.
Ok and take care.
