Is It Safe To Take Amoxicillin For Skin Itchiness Caused Due To A Cut On Nipples?
I am 44 years old and have a little cut on the side of the tip of nipple. It has been five days now. It has never happened before. First it was very itchy but its not itchy anymore, but still there.I have some antibiotics amoxcillin 875mg. I started using these.
Hello. Good day. Thanks for writing to HCM. I am Dr Praveen and I will be answering your query today. Since you have started amoxicillin it would be good to take it for 5 days and stop. But in my opinion you didnt need that. You didnt have any evidence of infection. May I take this oppurtunity to tell you to be cautious in using antibiotics the next time. Please use it if only infection is confirmed. You may apply an emollient to keep the area supple. An application of an antifungal will help in most cases of itching. That should do. If you have not checked your blood glucose level so far this is a good time to do. Wishing you good health. Please hit thanks and rate this answer if you have found it helpful. Warm regards.
