Is It Safe To Take Amoxicillin For Tooth Pain Caused Due To Abscess?

I have an abscesses tooth and I'm in extreme pain.. I have some amoxicillin that I just took today.. I really don't have money for a dentist. Will it clear up with the antibiotics? And what type of meds can I use for pain.. I used ibuprofen 800 that I've had also prescribed from a previous doctor visit (not dental)

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your query Amoxicillin which is a "Penicillin" group of antibiotic and is most commonly given in case of dental infections.

It can be taken in case of dental abscess and if combined with metronidazole it can give better results.

You should also take serratiopeptidases for faster relief.

Ibuprofen can be taken to relieve pain and reduce inflammation.

But as you have abscess and if the pus has no escape way for the pus to get drained it will keep creating pressure and shooting pain and at times painkiller also provide no relief and antibiotics can reduce the infection but will take a longer time and at times the pain and swelling reduces but after the course of medicine is finished the infection exaggerates again leading to severe pain..

Although you can start with the antibiotic and painkillers but you definitely need to get the treatment of the tooth done by the dentist to get permanent relief

Hope your query is solved..
