Is It Safe To Take Angina For A Person Having Two Leaking Heart Valves?
I HAVE A CARDIOLOGY QUESTION. I AM NOT SURE THAT I HAVE ANGINA ATTACKS , IF SO SOMETIMES IT WILL ONLY BE ONCE EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS, .. I WAS GIVEN A PRESCRIPTION FOR ISOSORBIDE MN ER 30 MG ONCE DAILY. SINCE I AM NOT SURE THAT I DO HAVE ANGINA ATTACKS I AM AFRAID TO TAKE THIS MED. I HAVE TWO LEAKING HEART VALVES , MITRO AND I THINK TRICUSPID, NO SEVERE AT ALL. IS IT SAFE TO TAKE THIS IF YOU DONT HAVE FREQUENT ANGINA, IF AT ALL
I understand your concern and would explain you that first you should clarify that issue regarding possible cardiac angina. You need to perform a cardiac stress test. If nothing results from the test, and if you don't have coronary risk factor, then you should look for another explanation of your experienced pains. Otherwise, if stress test results positiv for cardiac ischemia, then you need a further diagnostic work up including coronary angiography to confirm coronary artery disease and establish the most appropriate therapy.
