Is It Safe To Take BP And Diabetes Medicines At The Same Time?

I took my blood pressure meds this morning as I usually do. I am also on diabetic meds which I take 2 times daily. I just grabbed all 3 and took now. Diabetic pill should have been the only one. Will the bp meds cause problems since I took a double dose today?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the simultaneous intake of blood pressure and diabetes tablet does not pause any interaction. However, certain points to be noted here:
- If the diabetes medicine is taken without breakfast or meals, there are chances of getting blood sugar level low
- If the double dose is taken by mistake, additional food intake is recommended to prevent hypoglycemia

In case of any following symptoms, contact 911 immediately:
- Dry mouth
- Perspiration
- Fine tremors or vertigo
- Spinning
-Gabhraman

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
