Is It Safe To Take Cardizem For AFib?

I m currently taking cardizem (diltiazeism) for A-fib. I don t feel it s the best medication for that purpose, since it s usually used for high blood pressure. I there another med that could be used to stabilize the heart that has fewer side effects than diltiazem? Thank you.
