Hi,

No, bleeding on and off is not normal.

The bleeding can be due to

1.     Infection in the vagina can cause bleed itself or lead to dryness and cause bleeding
2.     Dryness – infection, improper foreplay, dehydration, age factor, hormonal imbalance
3.     Benign or malignant polyp.
4.     Foreign bodies due to unhygienic sex method, sex toys,
5.     Bleeding disorders
6.     Eczema

you can meet your gynecologist and get changed your tablets or go for condom it's much safe than contraceptive pills.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. S.R.Raveendran, Sexologist
