Is It Safe To Take Diazepam 5ml/5mg For A Kid Who Needs A Small Filling?

I have a 4 yr old who is having a small filling filled. He weighs 16.8 kg. The Dentist prescribed Diazepam 5ml/5mg solution. He ordered to give him 6ml for moderate sedation. It seems like a high dose for a small filling and for his size. What would you recommend?
