Is It Safe To Take Eliquis While On Atorvastatin?

I had double bypass surgery in Jan 2015. Have had several problems since. I forgot to take my 10 mg of atorvastatin last eve. but for the first time, I can actually take a deep breath! I have been taking atorvastain since my open heart 1 tx per da. I actually feel better today! Also I just got a New refill. Says to take 1 tab. of 2.5 mg each da of Eliquis. The Rx before had me taking 2 tab. each da of Eliquis. What should I do? The doctor has not returned a call and of course it was the weekend. I went to taking only one in the last couple of days. Hi,

Eliquis contains Apixaban which is an anticoagulant which prevents clots in blood. Atorvastatin is a hypolipidemic drug which reduces the blood cholesterol levels.

There is no much interaction between the drugs and hence both can be taken together without any issues.
