Is It Safe To Take Hizide I For Stiffness In Jaw Caused Due To Tobacco Intake?

HI, I had ben chewing pan masala for quite a few years but have quit it since over two months. Was taking Hizide(anti-oxidant) but wasn t regular with it. Now one side of my jaw pains in opening properly and I have restarted on the Hizide tablets. How long do you suggest that it ll take for the medicine to have its effect again? I restarted it from past couple of days. Left side seems completely fine but right has become very stiff. Also can t consult a dentist here as I am not in India anymore and the costs are very high here.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain it seems though you say you have quit the tobacco habit but as you find that right side has become very stiff it clearly shows that you are already suffering from ORAL SUBMUCOUS FIBROSIS..
(OSMF)
It is a precancerous condition of mouth (NOT CANCER BUT CONTINUATION OF TOBACCO HABIT CAN CAUSE MOUTH CANCER IN FUTURE) and needs immediate attention as only antioxidants cant cure the disease..

You have to consult a dentist and after clinical evaluation if OSMF is confirmed you will be advised with intralesional corticosteroid injections, antioxidant and physiotherapy for some improvement..

But you will have to consult a dentist and get your treatment done as it requires persistant review and follow ups..

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regards..
