Is It Safe To Take Hydrocodone With Acetaminophen Or Meperitab For Pain Relief?

My sister has just had surgery on Wednesday and was given Oxycodone 5 mg for pain relief. The prescription says to take 1-2 every 4-6 hours for pain. Since she is almost out of this pain med, my question is whether she can substitute either Hydrocone with Acetaminophen 5-325 or Meperitab 50 mg which she has from previous ruptured ovarian cyst?

Hi,

Yes, it is safe to substitute it witch acetaminophen. Meperitab is a drug almost like hydrocodone. This means she should not take these together. Also, if she is stepping down from hydrocodone, she should probably not substitute it with meperitab. Then acetaminophen is better.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
