Is It Safe To Take Iron And Potassium Supplements While On Lipitor?

I take B-12 shots monthly but just generally feel tired. It used to help. Is there a supplement like iron or potassium that I could ask that would give me more energy. I am 76 years old and am in generally good health. I take a thyroid supplement and have for about 30 years, also take Lipitor.

Hi,

Iron supplements can be taken along with Lipitor. No major drug interactions has been found between Ferrous sulfate and Iron. Also, Potassium supplements should be taken only if there is a clear deficiency of serum potassium. Unnecessary intake can cause hyperkalemia which can cause muscle weakness or abnormal heart rhythms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
