Is It Safe To Take Lisinopril Along With Amlodipine And Carvedilol At The Same Time?

My wife s PCP referred her to cadiologist who has prescribed to take ISOSORB MONO 20 mg one tablet daily. She is already taking Lisinopril 20 mg one tablet x 2 , Amlodipine 10mg one tablet x 1, Carvedilol 6.25 mg 1 tablet x 1 a day. After reading the instructions paper from pharmacy I am in suspense as to whether to start this medicine or not. She is also a diabetic.

Hi,

All the three medicines, you are taking belong to different groups of ACE inhibitor, calcium channel blocker and beta blocker respectively. Apart from other individual properties, these all three medicines have anti-hypertensive properties also. Where as, ISOSORB MONO is a vasodilator, primarily being used for increasing blood supply of heart via dilatation of coronary arteries. Your doctor might have prescribed this to take care of any ischemic condition of heart as a precautionary measure.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
