Is It Safe To Take Lisinopril Instead Of Verapamil For High BP?
I have been on Verapamil for years and it seems to have lost its effect on my bp. My readings have been anywhere from 169/90 to 180/78 and my legs and ankles are swelling. My (new) doctor is switching me to lisenopril. Should I be concerned about the switch and new side effects?
You may not experience any side effects from the use of the lisinopril.
The majority of persons do not experience side effects from most medications.
Many persons need more than one medication to control their blood pressure so if the lisinopril does not adequately provide control, another agent may be needed.
I hope this helps
