Is It Safe To Take Losartan For Swollen Knee While Suffering From Post Polio Syndrome?
I have a neighbor 83 years old. She had polio as a young child. She believes she is suffering with Post Polio Syndrome. She has swollen knee, pain in leg, (right especially). She has extreme curviture of spine. Her mind is good but dwells on hurts in her life. She is a famous person in her own right and deserves to live the best life she can. She takes a medication called Losartan POT. I have suspicion it is contributing to her joint pain as well as may be the culprit causing some spots on her neck and head which have been diagnosed as lickenoids (unfamiliar with how to spell this but is caused by a bite and specific more or less to the northeast). She is from Pennslyvania. Can you please check out the Losartan POT to see if could be culprit. And what and where do you recommend that she get the very best care considering the fact that polio is a disease not dealt with in this era as it was in the past. It seems she needs a team of doctors perhaps. Thank you in advance for your help. Mary Steele

Is It Safe To Take Losartan For Swollen Knee While Suffering From Post Polio Syndrome?
Hi, All your symptoms do not seem to be related to losartan potassium. Particularly joint swelling is not a known side effect of Losartan. Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
