Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain Thrush also known as CANDIDIASIS is a fungal infection and is caused due to a number of reasons like Long term intake of steroids, antibiotics, cancer medicines, chemotherapy, oral contraceptives, denture wearing, diabetes,HIV,smoking ,stress etc..

It has a typical appearance with formation of a cheese like layer over the surface of tongue and it can even spread to other mucous membranes and on removal of the layer there is appearance of a raw surface..

It can also occur on outer surface of lips and can cause dry mouth and foul smell in mouth..

A dentist can very well diagnose the condition with the distinctive appearance while the scrapping of the layer and microscopic examination can confirm the diagnosis..

Nystatin is an antifungal medicine and it is commonly used in the form of rinses and it is used to treat thrush..

In case of relapses oral intake of antifungal medicines like Fluconazole and Itraconazole has to be taken..

Along with it the cause for the occurrence of thrush has to be eliminated by treatment..

In very resistant cases or in case of severe immuno-compromised condition Amphotericin B is given to the patient..

Taking frequently probiotic like yoghurt and garlic can be relieving..

Do warm saline gargles..

Avoid antimicrobial mouth rinses..

Maintain a good oral hygiene..

Hope this information helps..
