I just started taking omeprosol and am a diabetic type 2. I am barely 80 years old, a female, am 5 ft.2 tall and weight 120 lbs. What kind of side effects should I expect? I have cramps on my feet some time while I am in bed, but not always or when walking.Should I ask my dr. to take me off of this med? I read somewhere you should only take it for 14 days and then stop and start again a month or so later. I do not have signs of acid reflux, just a bit of a cough and hiccup once in a while. Please advice/thanks. Maria Will I be charged for your answer? If so, please disregard this. Can t afford it,so please cancel this question. Maria
It's completely safe to consume omeprazole. There are no established major side effects. However since you do not have acid reflux symptoms and currently taking it for only hiccups, you may discontinue it. It's ideal to take omeprazole for 14 days as you mentioned. And cramps in your legs is unrelated to this drug intake.
Do let me know for any additional information.
