About 2 weeks ago my cheeks began to become irritated and red. Then it got worse went down to my neck and then they both began to swell. I went t the doctor and he had no idea besides an allergic reaction. I was put on seroids and it made me have a panic attack. Any ideas?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR CONCERN.

As per your query you have symptoms of redness and irritation on cheeks which is mainly due to increased temperature of body leading to red hot flashes or it could be due to severe allergic reaction. I would suggest you to take antihistaminics (Cetrizine) and Ranitidine and steroids either as injection / oral steroids for a short period to control this allergic reaction immediately. Yes using steroids for long times can cause atrophy of skin.So I suggest you to visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment as per day.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
