Is It Safe To Take Urikind Km Sachet For Long Term?
Dear Sir, My wife is suffering from urine infection since last one year and having mild fever . During sonography it has also been observed that amount of residual urine in bladder is slightly more in compared to normal . She has gone through following medical treatments viz. Amikacin injections seven days after culture test of urine but still infection not cured , regularly we are taking urikind KM sachet . Please suggest can we continue this sachet for long time or what elase we ahve to take precausions for cure from infected disease .
Your wife may require antibiotic treatment for a few more days in order to reduce the infections.Any other co-existing conditions like urinary stones and Diabetes should also be treated for a faster recovery.
Urikind -km can be used regularly to reduce the symptoms. This drug can even reduce the need of antibiotic use and also for prevention.
Taking a higher amount of the drug does not reduce the symptoms early.Hence only the recommended dose should be used per day.
This drug should be avoided in case of renal stones or serum electrolyte abnormalities.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards Dr.Saranya Ramadoss, General and Family Physician
