Is It Safe To Take Cough Drops For Cold?

I have recently begun to take heart medications due to a massive heart attack and I also have had a defribulator/pacemaker. Right now I also have a cold and while I understand that due to all my medications I cannot use nasal sprays etc., however, is it safe to take 3-4 halls cough drops per day?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
As you have taking medicines for cardiac problems following heart attack, the nasal sprays are not advised.
If you are having cough, the reason for the cough should be found out to know it is of cardiac cause or respiratory cause.
Only after confirming of respiratory cause for cough you can take cough syrups.
Still i will suggest you to consult your cardiologist before taking any medicines.
Thank you.
