Is It Safe To Travel While On Antibiotics For Cellulitis On Elbow?

My husband was just diagnosed with cellulitis on his elbow and started on antibiotics. We re suppose to fly for five hours tomorrow to a city with plenty of medical facilities. His Dr here would like him to delay for 24-48 hours to make sure the antibiotics are working. Should we stay or should we go?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I have read through your concern. I would like to tell you that the information provided by you is not sufficient to give you an answer. I would like to know your husband's age, whether he has diabetes, whether he has fever currently and how much area has been affected in his elbow region. At the outset, I would recommend you to delay your travel for a day according to your doctor's advice as he would have had all these information to decide. Available medical facilities is not the issue here but continuous medical care is what is most important
