Is It Safe To Use Meftal-P And Paracetamol For Treating Fever?

Hello doctor my child is suffering from cold and having fever also. But last night fever increased my doctor advised to take meftal p 2.5 ml.But after giving that after half hour fever was not gone so i used paracetamol-125 2 ml and than in 15 mins fever gone.Is it safe to give her paracetamol plus meftal-p both. Or i should use any one. My child is 7 month old and 8 kg weight.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Since your daughter is 7 months old and she is weighing only 8 kg, so for fever only paracetamol will be sufficient as the child is responding to this drug well. The normal dose is 10 mg/kg body weight. You can give 3 to 4 times in a day for 3 to 4 days. If she feels pain in the body, you can use meftal-P also (when there is pain the little one scream without fever). However, cold sponging also help in fever, if there is no cold or running of nose.
