Is It Safe To Use Melalite Cream On Face Regularly?
Hi I am a 24 years old female. I have been using melalite 15 on my face regularly during bed time. It has been 4 years now and my skin tone has lighten up drastically. I haven t experienced any side effects till now but after reading about the side effects of hydroquinone I am really worried and I have discontinued the use of the cream. I just wanna know what should I do next should I consult a dermatologist and get myself evaluated ? what is the best I can do to undo the probable damage caused?

Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Hydroquinone is not good to use for long term. 4 years is a long term also. So if you stop it suddenly then there can be a possibility rebound skin pigmentation. So you can consult a dermatologist to wean it off gradually. For skin lightening creams containing kojic acid , vitamin C and vitamin E can be used. Kojic acid rarely gives skin irritation comparable to hydroquinone. It is better to use a sun screen having at least spf 50 also. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
