Is It Safe To Use Prednisolone Acetate Drops For The Eyes Of A Toddler?

Is it safe for my 2 year old to use prednisolone acetate drops for his eyes? Our family doctor prescribed my 10 year old daughter prednisolone acetate drops for her eyes. Her eyes were stuck together and really nasty looking and irritated her terribly. When my 2 year old woke up during the early morning and his eyes were sticking together and looking similar to my daughters, I immediately put a drop of her medicine drops in his eyes. Will the drops harm my son and make his eyes better?
