Is It The Simvastatin That Is Keeping My Midsection Afloat?

I am having a hard time losing my mid section. I am now taking simvastatin, I am 69 and have tried exercise, diet pills I think I have tried everything. I am a 5 o'clock eater and once in a while have a pb sandwich before 8. I am fairly active. My real question is " Is it the simvastatin that is keeping my midsection afloat or do I Keep trying other things"?
