Is It To Be Concerned About Malaria Parasite During Pregnancy?
hello doc, how u doing? my wife is pregnant, say 2 months and she has typhoid fever, meanwhile i just got to know from the net about it,she went for a test and they only found malaria parasite, but she is not getting any better, yet. what can be done almost immediately?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Finding malarial parasite in the blood test means your wife is suffering from malaria. Malaria is more aggressive during pregnancy and has to be actively treated by antimalarial drugs. If the fever is high grade, there is urinary complaints, altered mental status, jaundice, then it is must that one is treated as an inpatient. I would suggest your wife to consult a physician and get proper examination, investigations and appropriate treatment. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you both good health.
