Is It To Be Concerned About The Discomfort After Having Implanon Implant?

I'm 22 years old, 5 ft 2 and weigh 150. I received the implanon implant last week on Wednesday. The bruising and swelling went down and the incision is closed up and there is no redness. However when I touch the implanon close to the top or the bottom it sends a sharp pain in my arm. It also happens sometimes when i just lay my arm against my chest like lying down. Is this normal or do I need to go have it looked at?? I thought it would go away with the healing of the site but its still persistent.

Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to implantation insertion.
I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the soreness.
I also suggest using cold compresses for local application such.

Hope my answer was helpful.
