Is It True That Progesterone Level Between 5-10 Is Normal During A Fet Cycle?
I did a frozen embryo transfer and 10 days past 5 day transfer my hcg level came back at 194, estradiol of 122 and progesterone of 8. Dr said low prog is because this was a medicated cycle and I did not ovulate. Also that the crinone gel does not show up in the blood work because it is absorbed directly in the uterine wall. I am taking 2mg estradiol twice a day and on crinone gel twice a day. Is it true that progesterone level between 5-10 is normal during a fet cycle. Blood work 12 days after transfer came back with hcg of 374, e2 of 127 and progesterone 6.
Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. Yes, your doctor is right. THis is a medicated cycle, and the hormonal boosts given to you will suppress endogenous hormone production. This is why you are taking both estrogen and progesterone from outside as supplements. Crinone also is locally absorbed so does not reflect upon blood progesterone values. Do not worry, as your reports are fie. Please wait until the date of your HCG test to confirm if you are pregnant or not. These low progesterone levels are expected in FET cycles. All the best for this cycle. Take care.
