Is It Wrong To Cover 2nd Degree Burn From Steam With Negaderm Dressing? Used Silvasorb For Ointment

My husband has a 2nd degree burn from steam,. it is open since blister popped.He cleaned it and covered it with a clear T
CNegaderm dressing . it is draining and has a foul odor. Is it wrong to use that type dressing on a burn? he will b going to MD, tomorrow. He used SILVAsorb for ointment.

Hi yes it is wrong to use dressing for second degree burn it should be left open.it can be treated with broad spectrum antibiotic thrice daily a painkiller .zinc supplementation and application of silverex ointment three to four times daily.if dressing is to be done.it should be done with sofra tullae not tegaderm
