Is Itching Inside The Vagina A Symptom Of Infection?

My husband and I were having intercourse and while we were having foreplay his finger nail scratched the inside of me and it bled. Now I have some discomfort and itching in my vagina and also my clitoris. Could it be infected and if so, is there an over the counter med I can purchase that can help. Thank you, J. Chambers

General & Family Physician 's  Response
No, it is a symptom of fungal infection not bacterial. You can insert vaginal tablet before going to bed ,it is better to use a combination of vaginal tablet that contains clotramizole, clindamycin, metronidazole & tab fluconazole 150mg od orally. Both of you should take this treatment instead of vaginal tablet, your husband should use clotramizole cream
