Is Itching Normal On The Bruised And Swollen Area?

4 days ago I went rollerskating with my daughter and fell on my left knee twice. I did not get xrays taken. It was swollen and bruised, but it's getting better. It still hurts a bit, but what's bothering me is that it itches. It feels like the bone itches and I can't get relief. Is this normal? I am a 45 yr old female.
