Is Itchy Left Ear Is Related To An Imbalance Of Fluid In The Inner Ear?
Hi. I m almost certain I have BPV as I have the exact symptoms-- room tilts when I turn my head in one direction or the other, lasts for about 30 seconds, usually occurs when lying down in bed and also when I do floor exercises. No other problems. I m hoping an Epley Maneuever will help this. My question is if my itchy left ear is related to an imbalance of fluid in the inner ear? Never heard of it, but seems plausible. Thanks--
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have fluid build up in inner ear which can leads to itchy left ear as this occurs due to eustachian tube dysfunction. Dysfunction usually occur when it become clogged due to mucus produce because sinusitis , post nasal drip and chronic upper respiratory infection. Need not to worry. Avoid touching or pricking ear with sharp object. Apply warm compresses on ear. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist to discuss the case. Doctor may order X-ray of face or CT scan to find out exact cause. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course , expectorant and anti histamine drug depending upon the diagnosis. Till then start taking over the counter anti histamine drug like benadryl .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
