Is Itchy Rash Under The Collarbone Shingles?

I have a small rash just under my collarbone on one side(close to the hollow of my throat) that is very itchy. It looks like shingles, which I have had before on my sciatic nerve, and feels the same, however there are only a few bumps - maybe 10, and a little pain underneath the skin(it feels bruised) at the top of the area. Someone else at work(I am a teacher) has shingles in a different area that looks similar - is it contagious?

Hello and welcome to HCM
I have read and understood your query.
I hope this will help you
Shingles or herpes zoster is caused by a herpes virus which affects a single nerve root and therefore rash which initially follows severe pain in area affected appears as water filled vesicles and erythematous base.
The rash you are describing may be shingles..but unlike chickenpox (as shingles is causes by reactivation if same various virus in dorsal nerve nucleus)
Shingles is not contagious..
I would advise you to consult your doctor and proceed accordingly.
I hope I answered your query
You can reach me any time with another query
