Is Kidney Function Test Recommended To Diagnose Thyroid Disorder?
Hi,I ve been ill, thyroid, long times ago (over 15yrs,I m 60yrs old at the moment).Every time I have blood test, they re going to test different part of my body such as testing for high blood pressure, sugar, vitamin, and now kidney...I just would like to question that does kidney affect to the thyroid or is it associate with thyroid or not? I understand your concern and I will be glad to answer it for you.
No there is no relation between kidney and thyroid. However few drugs are not given when creatinine is high [when kidney function is reduced]. This might be the reason why you are tested for knowing over all health status.
You need to test TSH every 3 months for follow up of thyroid and that should be fine.
