Is Kyphoplasty Advisable For Depression In End Plate Of L1 Of Spine?

I have a depression of the superior end plate of L1 with mild increased T2 signal along the superior aspect of the vertebral body consistent with an acute/ subacute compression deformity. No retropulsion of bone is noted into the spinal canal. This is from the MRI findings. I am wearing a brace. but it doesn t help much. I have had this condition for about two weeks. It has been recommended that I have Kyphoplasty. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

This type of intervention can solve the problem and give a new balance to your spinal column, without increasing the risk for further degenerations to these bones. So, I would recommend going for surgery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
